2021
Concept Created
The idea for Mayze Interiors first began to take shape during a university project. By the time our founder completed her studies, the concept had already attracted interest from clients, turning an early idea into the beginnings of a global business.
Mayze Interiors was established in Ottawa, initially operating as a traditional furniture supplier, wholesaling to retailers with brick-and-mortar storefronts. At the time, the business was rooted in a simple belief that furniture was best experienced in person, before becoming part of someone’s home.
2022
OCTOBER:
Partnered With ManufactureRs in Asia
Invested in manufacturing facilities in Asia specializing in upholstered furniture to ensure quality control and cost efficiency.
December:
Partnered With Italian Stone Suppliers
2023
Partnered with a manufacturer in Italy to diversify our offerings with high-quality stone slabs for our furniture.
Business Model Restructuring
During this period, Mayze Interiors underwent a significant transformation. We restructured our business model by eliminating intermediaries such as resellers, dealers, and salespersons. This move allowed us to focus on delivering high-quality goods directly to our customers. We also streamlined our catalog, reducing the number of SKUs to prioritize quality over quantity.
2024
JANUARY:
Direct-to-Customer Retail Re-Launch
Mayze Interiors relaunched its own retail website, enabling us to sell directly to end customers. This shift not only enhanced our customer experience, but also allowed us to offer more competitive pricing by cutting out the middlemen.
MARCH:
Expansion to International Fulfillment
Expanded our operations by establishing warehouse and fulfillment services in New York City. This move allowed us to efficiently manage our growing international orders and improve delivery times.

Funmi Oyapero is the founder and principle design consultant of Mayze Interiors Inc. With a background in business and entrepreneurship, she combines strategic thinking with a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and interior design. Her fascination with natural stone and timeless craftsmanship, particularly inspired by the artisans of Carrara, Italy, led her to establish Mayze Interiors Inc.
Today, she oversees the creative direction of the brand, ensuring each collection reflects a balance of sculptural form, functionality, and enduring quality while remaining true to the values of thoughtful craftsmanship and intentional design.
